Parallel to the International Nature, Being & Technology exhibition, a cross-national FUTURES contemporary textile art exhibition will showcase students’ work from four Canadian institutions: Alberta University of the Arts, OCAD University, Toronto Metropolitan University, and Concordia University.

 

FUTURES is a student contemporary textiles & fibre art exhibition that will exhibit the work of talents from four leading Arts universities across Canada. 20 students have been selected from Alberta, Ontario and Quebec creating an exhibition that expresses the innovation, community and depth of technical knowledge of textiles and fashion programs.

Alberta University of Arts, OCAD University, Toronto Metropolitan University, and Concordia University, along with the Cotton Factory are connecting with NoBa to share in cultivating the voice of Students and academics who are forming the future of culture and industry through textiles. 

The show will display the vision of textiles and material structures as seen from the eyes of the next generation of creators. With this cross-national exhibition we are creating a conversation that travels the country, connecting provinces through collaboration and the language of contemporary textile and fibre arts.

Culture depends on the creativity of the next generation, NoBa - North Baltica Contemporary Art believes that art, craft and communication are foundational to cultivating innovation and positive change.
