SIGNS OF THE TIME
Egils Rozenbergs Solo Exhibition
November 7 - December 8, 2025
@The Cotton Factory in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
https://www.cottonfactory.ca/

Signs of the Time is a solo exhibition of internationally acclaimed contemporary textile artist Egils Rozenbergs, known for his large-scale, expressive works that explore themes about the passage of time is a succession, that our future is rooted in reflections of the recent past. Every era has its own signs and symbols, which are uniquely expressed in his work.
Since 1968, Rozenbergs has explored new materials and methods, evolving from classical tapestry to a distinctive personal style marked by dynamic composition and color, using materials characteristic of 21st Century technology in a metamorphosis associated with constant changes in style, weaving techniques, and materials – from natural fibres to synthetic.
His work has been globally exhibited and is part of major collections including the Latvian National Museum of Art, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and New York’s Museum of Arts and Design. As a 2015 winner of the competition Mobilier national et Manufactures nationales de tapis et tapisseries des Gobelins, two of his sketches were selected and woven using the traditional Gobelin tapestry technique, now part of the French national collection, alongside pieces by Matisse, Lurçat, and Miró.
